Firebase Migration

Migrate your dynamic links from Firebase to LinkSense.

Why Migrate

Firebase Dynamic Links has been deprecated

Google deprecated Firebase Dynamic Links in August 2025. Existing links continue to work but the service is no longer actively maintained and new features will not be added. Migrating to LinkSense ensures your dynamic links remain fully supported with ongoing development.

LinkSense provides a modern alternative with all the features you relied on from Firebase Dynamic Links, plus improvements like real-time analytics, a cleaner dashboard, and flexible plan options.

Migration Overview

Follow these steps to migrate your dynamic links from Firebase to LinkSense:

1

Create a LinkSense account

Sign up at LinkSense and verify your email address.

2

Set up your project

Create a project in LinkSense and choose a subdomain. This subdomain will replace your Firebase domain (e.g., yourapp.page.link becomes yourapp.linksense.net).

3

Register your apps

Add your iOS and Android apps in the project settings. Use the same Bundle ID, Team ID, package name, and SHA-256 fingerprints from your Firebase configuration.

4

Recreate your dynamic links

Create new dynamic links in LinkSense that match your existing Firebase links. Set up the same device routing rules, fallback URLs, and social preview settings.

5

Update your app configuration

Update the Associated Domains (iOS) and intent filters (Android) in your apps to point to your new LinkSense subdomain.

6

Update link references

Replace Firebase Dynamic Link URLs in your marketing materials, emails, and any hardcoded references with your new LinkSense URLs.

Mapping Firebase Concepts

If you are familiar with Firebase Dynamic Links, here is how concepts map to LinkSense:

  • Firebase project → LinkSense project — The top-level container
  • URL prefix (e.g., yourapp.page.link) → Subdomain (e.g., yourapp.linksense.net)
  • Dynamic link → Dynamic link — Same concept, different dashboard
  • Deep link URL → Fallback URL / App-specific URLs
  • Social tag parameters → Social preview settings (title, description, image)

App Configuration Changes

The main changes in your mobile apps are updating the domain references:

  • iOS: Update the Associated Domains entitlement from applinks:yourapp.page.link to applinks:yourapp.linksense.net
  • Android: Update the intent filter host from yourapp.page.link to yourapp.linksense.net

Gradual migration

You can run Firebase and LinkSense in parallel during migration. Keep your Firebase links active while setting up and testing your LinkSense links. Once verified, switch your app configuration and update external link references.
